The Founder and Festival Director of Folklore Festival is a South African singer-songwriter, TV presenter and creative entrepreneur extraordinaire. She has for the past decade graced the global stage, captivating audiences with her enchanting melodies, astonishing vibrato and meaningful lyrics.

Pilani's commendable musicality has garnered her recognition, including the prestigious accolade of Best African Adult Contemporary Album at the South African Music Awards in 2020 for "Folklore Chapter 1" which inspired the birth of Folklore Festival, an annual celebration of heritage, culture and creativity in Johannesburg on the month of September.

The Project Manager of Folklore Festival is an author and publisher with a strong passion for using the present for the telling, writing and publishing of authentic nonfiction stories by Africans. She believes that our children, future generations and the rest of the world can only have access to our teachable experiences and wisdom if we take the time to write and publish our true stories.

Having Project Managed Pilani Bubu's "Lockdown Lovestory" Tour in 2022 successfully. Palesa is excited to continue to work with Miss Bubu in bringing the Folklore Projects to life and growing with the Folklore Community.
